Baby News

Wow it has been quite a while since I posted last. A lot has happened since my last post. I am now almost 26 weeks pregnant! So i'm getting ready to start my 3rd trimester soon, it's so unbelievable that i'm already 6 months pregnant and the baby will be here before we know it! I am definitely looking pregnant now. I have a pretty big baby bump now and I am definitely feeling the affects of the extra weight in the front. My back is taking quite a beating trying to hold the belly, and I know it is only going to get worse as the belly gets bigger. I am really happy to say I've only gained 4 lbs. the whole pregnancy so far! I was very happy about that, I was afraid I would gain like crazy because I normally gain weight very easily.....I guess the baby is taking all of the extra calories instead of my butt though, so that's good.

We did find out the sex of the baby.....It's a GIRL! We were so excited to find out it was a girl. We of course would have been thrilled to have a little boy, but there are a lot of boys in both mine and Alan's family so we were happy to be adding a girl to the mix. We are going to name her Alana Marie.....pronounced like Alayna..... We wanted to keep the spelling similar to Alan's name and my middle name is Marie as well. In Alan's family there are 3 boys and 1 girl and she is names after her dad....His name was Eric and she is Erica....so we wanted to kinda carry on that little bit of a tradition in case she is the only girl we have. My dad thinks we will have all girls....which I would be very happy about, we'll see though. I need to have this baby before I start planning for the other babies!

Well I have my next doctor appointment on January 2nd and then all of our pregnancy classes start in January, so i'm sure I will have lots to update after all those exciting things!

I figured I should update....even though not too much is going on. I have just been working and taking care of Cooper. This week I've been working a lot.....well 20 hours....which is a lot for this job. But next week I don't have as many hours so that will be a nice break. I really want to get back into scrapbooking. I just need to clean off my table so I can spread all of my supplies out and then print off some pictures to scrapbook with. Hopefully next week i can get back into it. Alan is going to the WVU game this Saturday, I still haven't decided if i'm going to go to Morgantown with him or not. We would be coming back Saturday evening so I may just stay home with Cooper instead of making him go in the car since he doesn't really like it too much. On Sunday we are going to a pumpkin farm with my family. I can't wait to get to pick our own pumpkins and get apple cider. Next week is my 4 month checkup already! Can't wait....hopefully i'll get to find out what i'm having soon. I can't wait!

2nd Doctor appointment!

Yesterday I had my second appointment at the OB office. It was really quick....like 5 minutes. I really wasn't sure what to expect when I went but all they did was ask how I was feeling and then listened to the babies heartbeat. They said everything looks good. They are going to wait until my next appointment ( in 4 weeks) to order my check up ultrasound. That was hopefully we can find out the sex of the baby at the same time. I can't wait to find out what I'm having. I really think it's a boy, but I would love to be proved wrong! Either way I will be extremely happy........but the stuff for the girl nursery stuff is just soooooo cute! Anyway, I think i'm going to go to the new outlets, in Washington, with my mom this weekend. I am really excited that they are so close to my house! I really hope the Old Navy there has a maternity section just to I can see some of the stuff. I can't fit in any of it yet, but I want to get an idea of what will probably fit me in a month. Exciting stuff!!

Hello Blog

Well here it goes. I'm not really sure who will read this so I guess I'll start by telling a little bit about myself... I will be 25 in November, I have been married for a year and 5 months to my wonderful husband. We recently moved to Pittsburgh for Alan's job. We bought a house and are having lots of fun painting and decorating our new house. We have a 5 month old beagle puppy named Cooper. He is really cute, but taking care of him has been the hardest and most frustrating thing I have ever done! But we love him, and can't wait for him to grow up and be a lazy dog that likes to sleep all day...and night! hehe I am 3 months pregnant with my first baby and couldn't be more excited.....and nervous! I have wanted to be pregnant for a very long time and have been truly blessed that it was very easy for me to get pregnant. So far the pregnancy has been pretty eventful. At my first doctor visit they found a large cyst on one of my ovaries. They assure me that it will not affect the pregnancy however they are continuing to monitor it.....which kind of concerns me because, why would they need to monitor it if it was no big deal?! However, the one blessing that came from the cyst is that I got to see my little bundle of joy on ultrasound at 8 weeks and will probably continue to get an ultrasound every 6-8 weeks ! I know God does everything for a reason....and God knows me too well...He knows I am very impatient and am the type of person that likes surprises, but I also like to ruin surprises and peek at gifts before it's time to open them! At my first visit they also discovered that I had a urinary tract infection.....no big deal, I didn't have any symptoms of it yet when they caught it. However, the doctor prescribed me a medication that you should not take when you are pregnant! Luckily I read all of the labels on the pill bottle before I took any. I of course called the doctor immediately and they prescribed me something different...something suitable for pregnant women. Ok, so event number 3 of the pregnancy is horrible morning (all day) sickness that was so bad I pulled a muscle in my back from vomiting and had to go to the hospital for dehydration. That was about a week ago and I am finally starting to get my appetite back and really haven't been very nauseous since then. I am hoping all of the drama is done now and the second trimester...which will start next week...will be a lot better. Everything I've read online says that most women get a burst of energy and feel great during the second trimester. I really hope that is the case for me. Now we're just waiting to find out the sex of the baby so we can paint the nursery and start getting things ready! I think that is the thing that I am most excited about. I can't wait to finally be able to call it he or she and finally buy clothes that are not gender neutral and decorate the nursery. So I have my next doctor appointment on Thursday....hopefully everything goes well, I'll keep ya posted !
